Today’s Tanka

a greening
after the burn
sometimes
the past can vanish—
what a wonderful fire

Presence #61 2018

a rogue wind
stole our fire
so clever
it lights up a
field of broom sedge

—Ribbons Spring 2018 Tanka Cafe (Members Choice  Honorable Mention)

a sparrow
splashes its wings
warm rain
I toss off my shoes
and roll up my cuffs
